It is also vital for those who are disabled and might not be in a position to attend the traditional classrooms as the environment may not offer such a personalized learning atmosphere that they might need. Another category is of those students who would love to supplement traditional classrooms with virtual ones maybe because they missed a few classes that they would like to catch up with later. Others are just students and families who fancy the flexibility offered by online learning. In some instances, hybrid systems mixing traditional and virtual learning are being evidenced where traditional schools not offering certain disciplines or subjects are using online learning for their students for such subjects so as to encompass everything in a single school day.
However online learning has come with its fair share of challenges. Some school administrators are skeptical of the quality of online learning and they do not believe it is equivalent to or even better than the three dimensional traditional classrooms. Funding for the people and services needed for online learning lack as is the case with traditional class learning. Some college admissions offices do not recognize online courses as enough grades to secure admission in some colleges. All said and done the world is dynamic posing new challenges concerning time,space and responsibilities and online learning is becoming irresistible. Credit goes to this form of learning organization for increasingly reducing the numbers of drop outs in the education system.It is also a field that has seen more instructors being employed thus improving livelihoods.
